California BlueFin Bar ~ 11" BulbSquid

This squid bird bar was developed for deep drop (long drop back) trolling in the So. California bluefin tuna fishery. It is made with a large custom preformed hard foam bird. We have the bird mold which casts the bottom of the bird like the bottom of a v-hulled boat. The bird runs straight and true in your spread even in rough water. It is rigged with 11" bulb squid and you can choose a different color stinger. We have developed new colors like Humboldt and Caramel. There is a tuna bird at each end of the bar to provide stability and commotion.

This bar can be used anywhere on the West or East Coast but was originally designed to solve the problem of deep dropping in California. This bar is successful trolled anywhere in the world. Troll up to 6 knots, it can go slightly faster in clam water. 

Rigging - The bar is 3/32" titanium, bird is high density urethane foam, the mainline is Momoi 250#, aluminum sleeves & bench crimping, AFW 300# ball bearing swivels, chafe guard on all connections and an 8/0 Southern Tuna SS hook by QuickRig.
